I received a free ecopy of this book from Oftomes publishing for an honest review. Thank you Ben and Oftomes Publishing

OK, straight up, this has to be one of the best books I have read in 2015. As many of you know I simply adore YA Fantasy books and this one ticked all the boxes. First off, I had heard of Gabriella Lepore a while back but I had never been able to find the time to pick up one of her books due to my other bookish commitments. But when I saw that new publisher ‘Oftomes’ had signed her, and offered me the chance to review some of their books I was more than eager to throw Gabriella to the very top/front of my TBR pile/Queue. I am so glad that I did because I finished this book within 2 days, and it was one of those books that I couldn’t let myself physically put my kindle down because I was utterly absorbed in the story.

I even bought a waterproof cover for my kindle so I could continue to read this in the bath. And yes, I actually read this in the bath. It was that good.

I love books about witches, and when I discovered that this book focused on witches, secrets and the learning of ones powers I was in love. Our protagonist Sophie and her brothers Sam and Todd are wonderful characters who really bring the story to life, they have a real relationship which is full of emotion and fun as any sibling relationship should be. The fact that they are all discovering their abilities together is so exciting, and also the fact that they are studying at a new school which is meant for others of their kind and their guardians.

There are a number of twists and turns in this book that completely took me by surprise and I can honestly say there was never a dull moment in this book. I loved the scene on the train with the fortune teller, which is so wonderfully done. Another of my favourite scenes is where Sophie goes on a rescue mission and is double crossed by someone. That is literally all I will say because I don’t want to ruin this book for those of you who haven’t read it yet.

After only reading one of her books, I am now a full Gabriella Lepore fan and convert, and like any true book addict I am going to need more and more of my literary Lepore fix. I just hope Gabriella can write fast enough.

An excellent book that I highly recommend everyone to read. If you don’t read this book or anything by this wonderful author then I’m sorry but I have no time for you. All I’m going to say now is just read it, you will not be disappointed.

I gave this book a magical 10/10
