Book Review: Stranded with the Secret Billionaire | Marion Lennox
This is my first official review for Mills & Boon as one of their official insiders and I am so excited to be able to be a small part of such a wonderful publisher. When presented with the first set of books for review, this one spoke to me in particular. I do have a love for cowboys and rugged outdoorsmen so the idea of spending time with the hero Matt Fraser was a little more than tempting. Not only do we have an incredible hero but our heroine Penny Hindmarsh-Firth proves to be a lot more than just a title. She has ambition, drive and a lot more strength than you would initially believe when we come across her stranded in the Australian outback in her pink convertible, her blonde locks messed from her current stressful situation.
Matt enters her life on horseback like the proverbial white knight but his mood and attitude towards Penny leave a little to be desired when it comes to his welcoming skills. He offers Penny a place to wait out the impending floods which could be seen as a reflection of the way her life has gone, when he fiancé jilts her for her sister at her family’s pleasure. Not exactly the way she saw her life going. It is just the kick in the pants she needed to finally get her act together, regardless of her family name and all the enforced responsibilities that comes with it she strikes out on her own to do whatever she wants to do.
Matt makes the mistake on judging her a little harshly on his first impressions of her, and her family name but when he comes to realise that there is much more to Penny than he initially thought, that is when romance begins to bloom. How their relationship develops and how much the come to depend on each other is such a wonderful story to follow along. How we see Matt need Penny for much more than her cooking skills and seeing how Penny is with his daughter were such heart warming moments. I swear, I adored everything about this book and once I had finished it I genuinely sighed with satisfaction.
I love a good romance, and this book has so much heart that it is clear that Marion is a professional story teller and a clear lover of romance. I was swept along with this love story and the entire world ceased to exist when I fell into this world and for me that is the mark of a wonderful book.
I highly recommend this book as it is pure romance, and it leaves you with such a good feeling at the end of it. I adored this book and it was the first of Marion’s that I have read, and I shall now be keeping an eye out for further titles that proudly carry her name.
This story was utter perfection.
I gave this book a heart thumping 10/10
